Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for a two-dimensional tracer test in a natural river using radioisotope is provided to accurately test the diffusion of contaminants in a natural river and offer the test result for contaminant flow analysis. CONSTITUTION: A tracer input device injects radioactive isotope into the center of the width of upper stream. A radioactive detector detects the gamma ray of the radioactive isotope in specific measuring points of a lateral line. A measuring unit and a counter receive a signal of the radioactive detector and analyze radiation. The measured concentration of a tracer is corrected in consideration of the influence of the radiation attenuation and natural radiation.
