Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present invention, in a communication method using an acoustic signal, an acoustic wave output device modulates a digital signal to be transmitted into the acoustic signal and outputs the modulated acoustic signal. The digital signal is a signal of m number of bits (m is an integral number and is 2 or more). The acoustic signal includes n number of frequency band (channel) sets within a preset frequency range (n is an integral number and is 2 or more). Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present invention, a system for providing information includes: a sound wave output device which detects the motion of a user to generate and output a sound wave signal; and a mobile terminal which receives the sound wave signal and provides a user with information corresponding to the received sound wave signal. The mobile terminal includes: a sound wave signal receiving unit which receives the sound wave signal and samples the sound wave signal N times; a frequency extracting unit which extracts the frequency (first extracted frequency) of a sound wave signal with the maximum signal strength in each sampling, and which extracts the frequency (second extracted frequency) of a sound wave signal with the maximum signal strength over the total N number of times of sampling from the extracted frequency; and an information providing unit which provides a user with information corresponding to the second extracted frequency.
