    Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for driving a motor. The apparatus for driving a motor according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a rectifier to rectify an input alternating current voltage; an inverter to convert the rectified voltage to drive the motor; a capacitor provided between the rectifier and the inverter; and a controller to control an operation of a switching element in the inverter. When an output voltage command value vector for driving the motor exceeds an output voltage limit boundary range in which the inverter may output, the controller calculates a final output voltage command value vector to allow a vector of an output current flowing through the motor to be equal to output power of the inverter based on the output voltage command value vector. Accordingly, excessive modulation control may be performed in a capacitorless scheme.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus to drive a motor. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus to drive the motor comprises: a rectifier to rectify an input AC voltage; an inverter to drive the motor by converting the rectified voltage; and a control unit to control a capacitor disposed between the rectifier and the inverter and controlling the operation of a switching element in the inverter, wherein the control unit generates a compensation voltage command value on the basis of an inverter output power command value related to the output power of the inverter, and outputs a switching control signal to drive the inverter based on a compensating voltage command value. Therefore, the present invention can perform a control of an input current of the inverter with a capacitor-less method.
