Abstract: PURPOSE: A composition is provided to include gingerenone A which exhibits the suppression effect of cancer cell proliferation and the expression increasing effect of cleaved-PARP and cleavedcaspase-3 as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: A food composition for cancer prevention includes gingerenone A indicated as a chemical formula 1 as an active ingredient. The composition includes 0.000001-50 weight% of the gingerenone based on the whole composition. The food composition for cancer prevention is one selected from meat, cereals, caffeine drink, general beverage, chocolate, bread products, snacks, pizza, jelly, noodles, chewing gum, ice-creams, alcoholic beverage, liquor, vitamin compositions and other health assistant food.
