Abstract: PURPOSE: An anti-monkey CD4 antibody of high affinity and a hybridoma which produces the same are provided to recognize CD4 antigen and to detect CD4+T cells in immunohistochemistry. CONSTITUTION: An anti-monkey CD4 monoclonal antibody isolated from monkey specifically reacts to CD4 antigen. The variable region of heavy chain of the antibody has an amino acid of sequence number 1. The variable region of light chain of the antibody has an amino acid of sequence number 2. A hybridoma cell line which produces monoclonal antibody has deposit number KCLRF-BP-00211. The CD4+ T cells are detected using monoclonal antibody. A therapeutic agent for CD4+T cell-mediated diseases or CD4+T cell-associated diseases contains therapeutically effective amount of anti-monkey CD4 monoclonal antibody or mutant thereof. The diseases are autoimmune diseases.
