Abstract: PURPOSE: A primer for distinguishing Panax quinquefolius mixed with various ginseng-processed products is provided to accurately distinguish Panax ginseng and Panax quinquefolius, and to quickly and accurately distinguish ginsengs. CONSTITUTION: A primer set contains a primer set in sequence numbers 1 and 2, and a primer set in sequence numbers 3 and 2. The primer set is used for distinguishing Panax ginseng and Panax quinquefolius. A method for distinguishing Panax ginseng and Panax quinquefolius comprises: a step of isolating genome DNA from a subject sample; a step of amplifying a target sequence using the genome DNA as a template and the primer set; and a step of detecting the amplified product.
