    Abstract: PURPOSE: A readiness potential based BCI(Brain-Computer Interface) apparatus and method thereof are provided to improve a user convenience by enabling a user to control a computer or mechanics in real time by analyzing the intention of the user. CONSTITUTION: A pre-processor(210) processes readiness potential signal measured using a brain wave detection apparatus beforehand. A noise elimination unit(220) eliminates noise from the processed readiness potential signal. A signal processor(230) extracts characteristics related to the intention of a user by computing the strength, phase, and location of the processed readiness potential signal. A data classification unit(240) classifies the extracted data. A pre-processor includes an LPF(Low-Pass Filter), an HPF(High-Pass Filter), or a BPF(Band-Pass Filter).
