    Abstract: PURPOSE: An Eucommia ulmoides extract for enhancing memory or learning is provided to suppress acetylcholine esterase and to remove free radical. CONSTITUTION: An Eucommia ulmoides extract for preventing or treating learning disorder, memory disorder or dementia and enhancing memory or learning is obtained by insolating with water, low alcohol of 1-4 carbon atoms or mixture thereof. A pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing dementia or memory disorder contains 0.001-50 weight% of Eucommia ulmoides crude extract or fraction as an active ingredient.

    Abstract: An extract of Crysanthemum indicum PRESL or a fraction thereof is provided to promote the nervous sedation caused by abnormality of various cranial nervous system, thereby being used as a medicine and a health functional food with prophylactic and therapeutic effect on anxiety. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating anxiety comprises an extract of Crysanthemum indicum PRESL having anti-anxiety activity and prepared by using a solvent such as water, C1-4 lower alcohol and a mixture solvent thereof or a fraction thereof as an effective ingredient, a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, a diluent or an excipient, where the fraction is obtained by subjecting the extract of a Dianion chromatography method using a developing solvent such as water, methanol and a mixture solvent thereof. A health functional food for preventing anxiety comprises the extract of Crysanthemum indicum PRESL or the fraction thereof, and a sitologically acceptable food supplement additive.
