Abstract: A polymer electrolyte, and a lithium secondary battery containing the polymer electrolyte are provided to improve high temperature stability, ion conductivity, lifetime and discharge characteristics. A polymer electrolyte comprises a polymer obtained from the composition which comprises a multifunctional crosslinking boron compound represented by B-(Ra)3, and an electrolyte solution comprising a lithium salt and an organic solvent, wherein Ra is an organic group having at least one C1-C11 acryloyl or methacryloyl group substituted or unsubstituted with at least one F. Preferably the ratio of the multifunctional crosslinking boron compound and the electrolyte solution is 1:20 to 1:100 by weight.
