CONSTITUTION: An expanded periodogram is obtained from a received signal through a frequency offset estimating method. A frequency offset is estimated through the expanded periodogram. A estimated frequency offset is compensated.

PURPOSE: A method for synchronizing synchronization in an ultra wide band wireless communication receiver through the synchronization of a first multiple path component and an ultra wide band wireless communication receiver using the same are provided to improve the performance of the process after synchronization by performing the synchronization at a first multiple path component of a received signal. CONSTITUTION: A UWB reception signal transmitted through a multiple path is received through an antenna(S201). A multiplication circuit multiplies the UWB reception signal received through the antenna with a reference signal(S203). A correlator produces a correlation value between the UWB reception signal and the reference signal(S205). A synchronization state is determined at a first multiple path signal of the received signal according to a determination rule(S207). A verification unit verifies the synchronization(S209). The verification unit outputs the synchronized signal.

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for estimating integer frequency offset are provided to estimate frequency offset without influence of a time error by using differential combination between successive correlation samples when the frequency offset is estimated at an OFDM system. CONSTITUTION: A fast fourier transform part(201) converts a time domain OFDM symbol into a frequency domain OFDM symbol. A correlation part(205) calculates a correlation sample between a training symbol generated from a training symbol generating part(204) and the frequency domain OFDM symbol delayed from a receiving symbol delay part(202). The correlation part applies differential combination between the successive correlation samples. An integer frequency offset estimating part(206) calculates integer frequency offset having a maximum value from correlation values delivered from the correlation part. A sample delay part of the receiving symbol delay part delays a receiving symbol delayed from the receiving symbol delay part as one sample in order to make the successive correlation samples. A sample delay part(207) of the training symbol generating part delays a training symbol generated from the training symbol generating part as one sample in order to make the successive correlation samples.

PURPOSE: An apparatus for frequency estimation at a OFDM system and a method thereof are provided to magnify frequency offset range by using a signal of period diagram in rayleigh fading channel environment. CONSTITUTION: An envelope curve regulating process of component generating unit(200) generates a component of envelop equality process. A integer frequency offset estimator(300) gets the fixed number frequency offset estimation value in which the sum between the consecutive period diagram makes have the maximum value. The prime number frequency offset estimator(400) gets the fraction frequency offset estimation value from the phase difference of the consecutive period diagram. The remainder frequency offset estimator(500) gets the frequency offset by using the fixed number frequency offset presumed and the period diagram corresponding to the fraction frequency offset.

PURPOSE: A method of analysis for an efficiency of a css system using an overlap method is provided to use easily the induced BER(Bit Error Rate) formulation using two EDC(Exponentially Decreasing Cosine) formulations with short length instead of one EDC formulation with long length. CONSTITUTION: A CSS system models a transmission signal which is overlapped. The css system models the overlapped received signal which passed through a channel. The down-chirp filter output signal of the overlapped received signal is modeled in the CSS system. The CSS system induces the closed BER formulation.
