본 발명은 휴대형 정보 단말기를 파지한 손의 손가락 움직임에 따라서 상기 손가락의 끝이 위치한 지점인 포인터를 인식하는 방법에 관한 것으로서, 본 발명에 따른 손가락 움직임에 따른 포인터 인식 방법은 휴대형 정보 단말기의 후면부에 부착된 영상 획득 장치가 손가락 영역을 포함하는 영상을 획득하는 제1 단계; 피부색을 나타내는 임계치를 이용해서 손가락 영역을 추출하고, 손가락 영역을 포함하는 영상에 대해 이진화를 수행해서 이진화된 영상을 생성하는 제2 단계; 상기 이진화된 영상으로부터 노이즈를 제거하여 노이즈가 제거된 영상을 생성하는 제3 단계; 상기 노이즈가 제거된 영상으로부터 손가락 영역의 윤곽선을 추출하는 제4 단계; 상기 손가락 영역의 윤곽선으로부터 손가락 영역의 중심선인 뼈대를 추출하는 제5 단계; 및 상기 추출된 뼈대의 말단 부분을 손가락 영역의 포인터로서 추출하는 제6 단계;를 포함한다.

PURPOSE: A method for recognizing a pointer controlling command according to a finger movement and a mobile terminal for controlling a pointer according to the finger movement are provided to recognize a drag and drop command, thereby performing a controlling operation with various methods. CONSTITUTION: An image is about a finger area is obtained(S101). An outline of the finger area is extracted from the obtained image(S105). A skeleton is extracted from the obtained image by using the extracted outline(S107). A coordinate of a pointer corresponding to the finger area is extracted based on the extracted outline(S109). A change of the pointer according to a finger movement is observed(S111). A control command is operated according to an observation result(S127). Abstract:
PURPOSE: A pointer recognition method according to the movement of a finger and control command recognition method thereof are provided to improve the convenience of a user by controlling the program of a portable information terminal through the movement of a finger. CONSTITUTION: A video acquisition apparatus which is installed at the rare surface unit of a portable information terminal acquires video including a finger area(S101). A binary video is created by performing binary-coding for the video including the finger area. An image is created by eliminating noise. The contour line of the finger area is extracted from the image(S105). The center line of the finger area is extracted from the contour line of the finger area(S107). The end part of the center line is extracted from the finger area using a pointer(S109).
