    Abstract: PURPOSE: An optical catalyst, a producing method thereof, a reactor using thereof, an optical decomposition apparatus, and a decomposition method of a volatile organic material are provided to secure the excellent photosensitivity and light-proof property of the catalyst. CONSTITUTION: An optical catalyst contains a titanium dioxide particle, a ruthenium system dye, and a platinum-based particle. The platinum-based particle and the ruthenium system dye are formed on the surface of the titanium dioxide particle. The titanium dioxide particle has the specific surface area of50 ~ 300 m^2/g. The ruthenium system dye is a substituted of non-substituted 2,2`-bipyridine selected from the group consisting a compound marked with RuL2(M)2, and its salt.
