    Abstract: PURPOSE: Provided are recovery and purification of acrylonitrile made by catalytic ammoxidation of propylene. CONSTITUTION: In a process for purifying acrylonitrile, an ammoxidation reactor effluent containing acrylonitrile and impurities is contacted in a quench system with an aqueous quench liquid; the improvement characterized in that the quench liquid contains less than 5000 ppm by weight high boiling organic compounds. In process for purifying acrylonitrile, the process comprises contacting an ammoxidation reactor effluent containing acrylonitrile and impurities in a quench system with an aqueous quench liquid; removing a gaseous effluent from the quench system and absorbing the gaseous effluent in water in an absorption column to form an aqueous solution; feeding the aqueous solution to an extractive distillation column having a plurality of trays; introducing water above the feed point of the aqueous solution and performing an extractive distillation to produce an overhead stream containing acrylonitrile and a bottom stream containing water and impurities; feeding the bottom stream from the extractive distillation column to a stripper column containing a plurality of stripper trays, removing water and high boiling organic compounds as a bottom stream from the stripper column, removing a water containing distillate as an overhead stream from the stripper column, and recycling distillate water to the quench column, the improvement characterized in that the recycled distillate contains less than 5000 ppm by weight high boiling organic compounds.

    Abstract: A method for decreasing radiation of NOx is provided to reduce emission of NOx by contacting nitryl compound to waste steam, auxiliary fuel stream and air at optimal temperature within a combustion area. Emission of NOx among exhaust gas in a stationary combustion system is decreased by contacting a kind of nitryl compound or more to absorber off-gas stream, auxiliary fuel stream and air at proper temperature for decreasing radiation of NOx within a combustion area of the combustion system. Nitryl is selected among nitryl compound displayed with a chemical formula of R-CN, and R is selected among hydrogen, aliphatic hydrocarbon radical, alicyclic hydrocarbon radical or aromatic hydrocarbon radical. Nitryl is added to the stationary combustion system by additional liquid supply stream, and the stationary combustion system is formed of a furnace.
