Abstract: PURPOSE: A lignan ingredient isolated from Flos magnoliae is provided to suppress excessive synthesis of NO and prostaglandin and to prevent and treat various diseases. CONSTITUTION: A lignin ingredient isolated from Flos magnolia has an activity of suppressing expression of NO(nitric oxide), PGE2, iNOS, COX-2(cyclooxygenase-2) and is a compound of chemical formula 1. The Flos magnolia is a medicinal herb of magnolia genus. A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating diseases caused by NO and prostaglandin as an inflammatory intermediate contains the compound of chemical formula 1 or pharmaceutically acceptable salt as an active ingredient. The diseases caused by NO and prostaglandin is inflammatory disease, carcinogenesis, and oxidative brain diseases.

Abstract: 본발명은목련(magnolia)속약용식물인‘신이’ (Flos magnoliae, 목련과)로부터분리된리그난성분과그 용도에관한것이다. 본발명에서는신이로부터분리된항염증활성을갖는 7개의리그난성분이제공되며, 이들의 NO, PGE의생성억제활성그리고그 생성효소인 iNOS 및 COX-2의발현저해활성이확인된다. 본발명에서분리된신이의리그난성분화합물들은과도한 NO 및프로스타글란딘의합성을억제함으로써이 염증성매개인자로인해발생하는각종질환의예방및 치료에사용될수 있다.
