Abstract: Disclosed is a method and an apparatus for controlling a vehicle using brain waves of a driver. The method for controlling a vehicle using brain waves of a driver comprises the steps of storing at least one reference EEG signal; measuring the brain waves of a driver and ensuring the measured brain waves of the driver is matched to at least one reference EEG signal; and controlling the speed of the vehicle based on the matched reference EEG signal. Therefore, the present invention can effectively prevent accidents by detecting the sleepy, nervous, and excited state of the driver through the brain waves thereof, by controlling the speed of the vehicle according to a preset method corresponding to the sleepy, nervous, and excited state, or by warning the driver or calling the attention of the driver.
