Abstract: PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for detecting important information from a moving picture are provided to detect important image at a rapid speed by performing the process only for candidate regions. CONSTITUTION: First candidate regions which is estimated to include important information is detected from video frames(110). According to the location of the still edge information within the first candidate regions, a grouping operation is performed for the still edge information. Second candidate regions are determined(120) and analyzed(130). An important information region is detected from each video frame(140).

Abstract: PURPOSE: A sound output device and a method thereof are provided to freely form a MIDI interface and output a sound. CONSTITUTION: A recognition unit(103) recognizes at least one sound pad with a closed loop shape by analyzing an image which is obtained by an image obtaining unit. A sensing unit(107) senses an event on at least one sound pad by analyzing the obtained image. When the event is sensed, an output unit(109) outputs a sound corresponding to the sound pad where the event is sensed.
