    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an MASN phosphor is provided to minimize the contamination by carbon generated in sintering since boron nitride is coated to a part of carbon mold and/or carbon punch which are contacted with phosphor raw powder. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing an MASN phosphor comprises the steps of: (S1) injecting the phosphor raw powder required for synthesizing the MASN phosphor represented by M_1-xAlSiN_3:LnX into a carbon mold; (S2) installing the carbon mold within the chamber of an electric discharge plasma sintering apparatus and removing oxygen from the chamber; (S3) sintering the fluorescent raw powder; and (S4) obtaining the phosphor powder by pulverizing the sintered material.
