Abstract: PURPOSE: A portable terminal for protecting personal information and a method thereof are provided to differently set an environment of the portable terminal based on a black list blocking information according to accounts. CONSTITUTION: An input unit(620) receives a password from a user. If there is the inputted password on a blacklist, a control unit(640) searches for blacklist blocking information set in an account. The control unit sets the environment of a portable terminal according to the searched blacklist blocking information. A memory(630) stores the blacklist blocking information.
