Abstract: PURPOSE: An LNG carrier is provided to reduce manufacturing costs by installing first and second pipes connected to a re-liquefaction device only in a first storage unit which has a lot of evaporative gas. CONSTITUTION: AN LNG carrier comprises a re-liquefaction device(10), a first storage unit(20), and a second storage unit(30). The re-liquefaction device cools and re-liquefies evaporative gas. The first storage unit is connected to the re-liquefaction device and stores LNG. The first storage unit comprises first and second pipes(40,42). The first pipe constitutes a first duct for moving evaporative gas from the first storage unit to the re-liquefaction device. The second pipe constitutes a second duct for moving LNG from the re-liquefaction device to the first storage unit. The second storage unit is connected to the first storage unit and stores LNG.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A cooling device included in the re-liquefaction device for boil-off gas is provided to reduce time required to cool a refrigerant, and to possibly operate the cooling device even in case of malfunctions of a part of compressors. CONSTITUTION: The cooling device included in the re-liquefaction device for boil-off gas includes a multiple stage compressor; an expander; and a connecting pipe. The multiple stage compressor(30) is installed in a plurality of lines and compresses a refrigerant heated in a heat exchanger for liquefaction. The multiple stage compressor includes a first compressor, a second compressor, and a third compressor. The expander(42) expands the refrigerant passing through the multiple stage compressor. The connecting pipe(50) interlinks the multiple stage compressor and the expander into one line.
