Abstract: A small interfering RNA(siRNA) and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the same are provided to be able to decrease the interleukin-6(IL-6) level, thereby being useful for treating inflammatory diseases, auto-immune diseases, tumor diseases or central nervous system diseases related with excessively generated IL-6. The double stranded siRNA is selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID : NO. 1 and a complementary sequence thereof described as SEQ ID : NO. 4, SEQ ID : NO. 2 and a complementary sequence thereof described as SEQ ID : NO. 5, and SEQ ID : NO. 3 and a complementary sequence thereof described as SEQ ID : NO. 6. The pharmaceutical composition for inhibiting expression of IL-6 or treating inflammatory diseases, auto-immune diseases, tumor diseases or central nervous system diseases comprises the siRNA or a mixture thereof.
