Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for connecting in a wireless communication system and a terminal executing the same are provided to prevent performance deterioration resulting from unfair channel occupation by differentially controlling the connection standby time of terminals according to a service type. CONSTITUTION: A monitoring unit(610) monitors the channel occupation of a connection device, and a time setup unit(640) sets up the connection standby time for driving a timer(620). A timer operator(630) controls the driving of the timer based on the connection standby time according to the channel occupation. If the connection standby time is finished by driving the timer, a control unit(650) tries the channel occupation for the data transmission. When a channel state is switched into a non-occupation state, the time setup unit selectively resets the residual time of the connection standby time according to a desirable service type.
