    Abstract: A floodgate winch is provided to ascend and descend a floodgate manually or automatically without installing a friction clutch, to keep a floodgate locked automatically by preventing a floodgate from descending using a manual operation unit, and to stop a floodgate from stopping by using an emergency cut-off valve. A floodgate winch comprises frames(100) installed at two sides of a floodgate, a manual operation unit(200) coupled with a first worm(212) rotated by a rotary handle(210) installed to the frame and a first planetary gear(220) supplied with power from a first worm wheel(214) engaged with the first worm, an automatic operation unit(300) installed to the upper part of the frame, provided with a driving motor generating power, a second worm(340) operated by the driving motor and a second planetary gear(350) supplied with power from a second worm wheel(341) engaged with the second worm, supplied with power by a driving sprocket(355) and a driven sprocket(356) connected to the second planetary gear and coupled with the first planetary gear, and a power transmission unit transferring power for reciprocating a floodgate vertically by the manual operation unit or the automatic operation unit. In addition, an overload prevention device is installed to the second worm shaft to prevent the driving motor from being damaged by overload, and an emergency stopping device(330) is installed to the automatic operation unit and provided with an emergency cut-off valve(332) to cut off a floodgate urgently.
