Abstract: A steel cord for the reinforcement of elastomeric material, comprising two equivalent wire groups of at least two wires each, the wire groups being twisted around each other and forming helicoids of substantially equal pitch and substantially the same form, the wires of a first group being substantially untwisted, and the wires of the second group being twisted together with a twist which is in the same sense as that of said helicoids and whose pitch has substantially the same value as the pitch of said helicoids.
