Abstract: PURPOSE: A portable rain drop detecting alarm using electrolysis of ion materials is provided to ensure low power consumption because of a simple operating structure in which ion materials being melted in rainwater forms a part of an electric circuit. CONSTITUTION: A portable rain drop detecting alarm using electrolysis of ion materials comprises a rainwater collecting unit, a rainwater sensing unit(2), a rain alarming unit, a signaling unit, and a circuit waterproofing unit. The rainwater collecting unit is formed in a funnel shape to collect rainwater. The rainwater sensing unit blocks up the funnel end of the rainwater collecting unit and is connected with metal to allow electric current to flow through ion materials melted in rainwater. The rain alarming unit is detachable and alarms a buzzer(7) in response to electric current. The signaling unit transmits a signal to the rain alarming unit through a relay(1) when electric current is created through the rainwater sensing unit. The circuit waterproofing unit prevents the infiltration of rainwater into the rainwater collecting unit, the rainwater sensing unit, and the signaling unit.
