Abstract: PURPOSE: A home network system and a home gateway based on a multi agent technology for supporting a heterogeneous network and a heterogeneous device are provided to reduce construction costs while using heterogeneous. CONSTITUTION: A home network system(100) based on a multi agent technology comprises an apparatus layer(110), a home network middleware layer(120), a multiple agent layer(130), and an application layer(140). The apparatus layer is composed of devices supporting various kinds of network standards or middleware standards. The home network middleware layer is connected to the devices existing in the apparatus layer. The multiple agent layer comprises a user agent(133), a device agent generator(135), a coordinator agent(134), generated device agents, and an agent manager managing the device agents.
