Abstract: A method for manufacturing a lithium secondary battery is provided to perform the operation at room temperature or high temperature, and to realize steadily big capacity by activating transition metal alloys or transition metal oxides which are not reactive or less reactive with lithium at room temperature. A method for manufacturing a lithium secondary battery comprises a step of forming an electrode having an active material layer including transition metal alloys or transition metal oxides; and a step of electrochemically activating the electrode by charging or recharging at a temperature of 50-200 °C. The transition metal alloys is the following chemical formula 1: AxBy. In the chemical formula 1, A comprises any one selected from Si, Sn, Al, Ge, Ga, In, Sb, Pb, Bi, Mg and Zn; B comprises any one selected from Cu, Ni, Co, Fe, Mn, Cr, V, Ti, Sc, Mo, Ru and W; and 0
