Abstract: 본 발명에 따른 광이미지 및 광메모리용 찰콘 화합물은 (1) 4-히드록시아세토페논을 THF 내에서 NaH와 반응시키고, 상기 반응물에 메탄올과 1-브로모알칸을 첨가하여 4-알킬옥시아세토페논을 제조하고, (2) 4-히드록시벤즈알데히드를 초산에 용해시킨 용액에 상기 4-알킬옥시아세토페논과 황산을 가하여 반응시켜 4-히드록시-4'-알킬옥시-찰콘을 제조하고, 그리고 (3) 상기 4-히드록시-4'-알킬옥시-찰콘을 THF에 용해시킨 용액에 테레프탈로일클로라이드를 반응시켜 제조한다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A chalcone compound and its preparation method are provided, where the compound can be used as an optically polymerizable liquid crystal molecule and is applied to an optical image and an optical memory. CONSTITUTION: The chalcone compound is represented by the formula I, wherein n is an integer of 2-11. The method comprises the steps of reacting 4-hydroxyacetophenone with NaH in THF, and adding methanol and 1-bromoalkane to the product to prepare 4-alkyloxyacetophenone; dissolving the 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde into acetic acid, and adding the 4-alkyloxyacetophenone and sulfuric acid to the solution to prepare 4-hydroxy-4'-alkyloxy-chalcone; and reacting the 4-hydroxy-4'-alkyloxy-chalcone with terephthaloyl chloride in THF.
