Abstract: 본 발명은 과산화마그네슘 또는 과산화칼슘과 영양물질을 혼합하여 제조되는 산소생성제로부터 생성된 산소를 이용하여 메탄(CH
4 )과 휘발성 유기화합물(VOCs; volatile organic compounds)을 분해하는 메탄산화미생물을 이용하는 메탄 및 휘발성 유기화합물의 생물학적 처리방법에 관한 것으로, 매립지 표면으로부터 발산되는 메탄 및 휘발성 유기화합물을 생물학적 반응에 의하여 토양 유기물과 이산화탄소 가스로 전환하여 배출시킴으로써, 매립지 주변의 대기질을 향상시키고 폭발에 대한 위험성을 줄일 수 있으며, 매립지를 호기성 상태로 유지시켜 줌으로써, 매립지에서 발생되는 온실가스, 악취 및 휘발성 유기 화합물질 등을 저감시켜 주변 환경을 개선시키는 효과가 있다.-

Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for treating methane and volatile organic compounds using oxygen releasing agent containing nutrients by consistently supplying oxygen and nutrients into landfill or contaminated soil, thereby maintaining activity of methanotroph is provided. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises a step of making a reactive barrier comprising oxygen releasing agent containing a principal ingredient of magnesium peroxide (MgO2) or calcium peroxide (CaO2) and nutrients; a step of installing the reactive barrier in soil contaminated with methane (CH4) and volatile organic compounds or soil covering layer of landfill; and a step of treating the methane and volatile organic compounds using methanotroph by passing the methane and volatile organic compounds through the reactive barrier, wherein the nutrients are selected from the group consisting of ammonium chloride (NH4Cl), sodium nitrate (NaNO3), potassium nitrate (KNO3), potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH2PO4), dipotassium hydrogen phosphate (K2HPO4), a trace of elements or a mixture thereof, wherein an oxygen releasing agent an outer part of which is coated with polymer is used in the reactive barrier, and wherein the reactive barrier further comprises one or more of adhesion filter media selected from the adhesion filter media group consisting of rubber piece, sand, gravel, compost, mud and diatomaceous earth in addition to the oxygen releasing agent.
