Abstract: PURPOSE: A high efficiency AC PDP having low sustain voltage and long discharge path is provided to improve a contrast efficiency by lengthening the discharge path and widening an interval discharge without increasing the discharge voltage. CONSTITUTION: An AC PDP includes a plurality of discharge cells for displaying images. The discharge cells include a first sustain electrode, a second sustain electrode, and an address electrode. A discharge path for high efficiency discharge is provided between the first sustain electrode and the second sustain electrode. The opposite surface of the first sustain electrode and the second sustain electrode includes a first opposite unit formed by a short-gap and a second opposite unit formed by a long-gap.
