Abstract: A glycopolymer prepared by polymerizing a monomer consisting of hexose such as galactose or mannose is provided to show the characteristic of cleaving nucleic acids. A glycopolymer with the nuclease activity is characterized in that it is a polymer prepared by polymerizing a monomer of a hexose coupled to a polymerizable functional group and a derivative thereof or it is a copolymer prepared by polymerizing the monomer of the hexose coupled to the polymerizable functional group and the derivative thereof and a monomer of an amino acid coupled to a polymerizable functional group, wherein the hexose is galactose or mannose.
