Abstract: PURPOSE: A computation reduction method of H.264/AVC motion estimation is provided to adjust a search area during IME(Integer Motion Estimation) and take a partial cost calculating method during FME(Fraction Motion Estimation), thereby largely reducing a computation amount. CONSTITUTION: An integer motion estimation process comprises the following units. An initial search area is extracted from motion vectors of neighbor macro blocks. Distribution values of neighbor motion vectors are calculated in x and y directions. The size of an initial search window increases in the initial search area according to the calculated distribution values of the neighbor motion vectors.

Abstract translation: 目的：提供H.264 / AVC运动估计的计算简化方法，以在IME（整数运动估计）期间调整搜索区域，并在FME（分数运动估计）期间采取部分成本计算方法，从而大大减少计算量。 构成：整数运动估计过程包括以下单元。 从相邻宏块的运动矢量中提取初始搜索区域。 在x和y方向上计算相邻运动矢量的分布值。 根据计算出的相邻运动矢量的分布值，初始搜索窗口的大小在初始搜索区域中增加。
