Abstract: PURPOSE: A composite composition containing organic germanium is provided to ensure thermal stability, strength, hardness, and surface smoothness and to be used as a dental material. CONSTITUTION: A composite composition which is used as a dental material contains 0.6-14 weight% of organic germanium, 83-98 weight% of silica, and 1-3 weight% of metal oxide. The organic germanium contains bis-carboxyethyl-germanium sesquioxide. The metal oxide is selected from SiO_2, Fe_2O_3, Al_2O_3, TiO_2, CaO, MgO, and ZnO. The composite composition is non-crystalline structure. The average grain size is 20-30 nm.
