    Abstract: PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing color zirconia blocks is provided to obtain the zirconia blocks with various colors and a tooth-like color by implementing manufacturing processes based on metal chlorides. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing color zirconia blocks includes the following: Metal chlorides are dissolved in distilled water. Thermally treated zirconia blocks are immersed in the metal chloride hydrate in which the metal chlorides are dissolved. The immersed zirconia blocks are dried. The dried zirconia blocks are sintered at a temperature between 1300 and 1600 degrees Celsius. The metal chlorides contain FeCl_3·6H_2O, MoCl_3, CrCl_3·6H_2O, and VCl_3. The contents of the FeCl_3·6H_2O, the MoCl_3, the CrCl_3·6H_2O, and the VCl_3 are respectively in a range between 0.001 and 4.5wt% with respect to the content of the distilled water.
