Abstract: PURPOSE: A variable battery charger with an SCR is provided to charge a battery with variable output by outputting plural levels of charging power supply selectively connected in parallel or in series. CONSTITUTION: A full-bridge switch outputs high frequency AC power supply by switching input DC power supply. A transformer(300) boosts or reduces the high frequency AC power supply. A rectifier(400) includes a plurality of rectifying modules. A plurality of unit batteries are charged with power supply for charging a battery. A switch circuit(120) outputs a plurality of levels of charging power supply.
