Abstract: A complex comprising geomembrane and polyvinyl alcohol nonwoven fabric is provided to be stable in the landfill environment and have excellent tensile strength, tear strength, bursting strength, and stability to uv rays and leachate. The complex comprising geomembrane-polyvinyl alcohol nonwoven fabric is obtained by uniting polyvinyl alcohol nonwoven fabric with geomembrane using an adhesive, or inserting a fiber with low melting point or a polyethylene film between geomembrane and polyvinyl alcohol nonwoven fabric to be united by a thermal fusion. The polyvinyl alcohol nonwoven fabric is prepared by needle-punching or spun-bonding polyvinyl alcohol staple fiber or long fiber filaments having a fineness of 5-15 denier, and has a weight of 600-2,000g/m^2.
