Abstract: 본 발명은 옥잠화 신품종 금백로의 육성 방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 옥잠화 재배종 종자를 감마선 처리하여 돌연변이된 개체를 무성번식시킴으로써 잎의 가장자리가 연한 황금색에서 점차 성장하면서 백색으로 변하며 중앙 부위가 녹황색의 무늬를 갖는 옥잠화 신품종을 육성할 수 있는 옥잠화 신품종 금백로의 육성 방법에 관한 것이다.
본 발명에 따른 옥잠화 신품종 금백로의 육성 방법은, 잎에 무늬가 전혀 없는 옥잠화 재배종 종자에 잎 변이 유발원으로
60 Co의 감마선을 이용하여 25Gy 선량에서 24h 동안 조사하는 단계와, 감마선 처리된 종자 중에서 완전돌연변이체를 획득하는 단계와, 선발한 변이계통을 분주에 의한 무성번식하는 단계를 포함하되, 잎의 가장자리가 연한 황금색에서 점차 성장하면서 백색으로 변하며 중앙 부위가 녹황색의 무늬를 가지고 있는 옥잠화 신품종을 육성하는 것을 특징으로 한다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A growing method of a hosta plantaginea geumbaekro is provided to breed a new hosta plantaginea which changes its color of the edges of leaves from the gold into white, and includes a yellow green pattern on the center of the leaves. CONSTITUTION: A growing method of a hosta plantaginea geumbaekro comprises the following steps: radiating 60Co or gamma-rays in a dose of 25Gy to hosta plantaginea seeds without any patterns on leaves for 24 hours; collecting a complete mutant among the gamma-ray processed seeds; and processing an asexual propagation. The hosta plantaginea geumbaekro has features including white flowers, scent, golden edges from young leaves, 11.5 centimeters of the leaf width, and others.
