Abstract: PURPOSE: An insecticidal composition containing bamboo extract is provided to ensure insecticidal and antibacterial effects and to kill various pests. CONSTITUTION: An insecticidal composition contains bamboo extract as an active ingredient. The bamboo is Phyllostachys bambuoides siebold & Zucc., Phyllostachysnigra var. henonis, Phyllostachys pubescens, or Sasa coreana Nakai. The bamboo extract is obtained from stems, leaves, or roots using water, C1-C4 low alcohol or mixture thereof. The bamboo extract has antibacterial activity to Rhizoctonia solani, Magnaporthe grisea, Fusarium oxysporum, Collecotrichum gloeosporiodides, or Botrytis cinerea. The composition additionally contains herb extract of rosemary or thyme.
