    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a vertical alignment LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) with fast response time by using UV curable polymer is provided to achieve fast response time of the LCD, implement low voltage of a small LCD by lowering driving voltage and achieve fast response time between gray displays, thereby implementing natural color expression when reproducing a video. If LCs(300) within a panel lie in two or more directions by a vertical electric field formed in two or more directions, UV(Ultraviolet) rays of a specific condition are simultaneously radiated to a lower substrate or upper and lower substrates(100,200). UV curable polymers(302) are polymerized according to LCs tilted and arranged around a surface of a substrate among LC directors tilted within the upper and lower substrates, and cured in a state of being tilted in a surface of the substrate. The cured UV curable polymer is tilted in two or more directions on alignment layers(102,202) after removing voltage. LC directors disposed in an inner surfaces of a substrate radiated with the UV rays have multi pre-tilt angles by effects of the cured UV curable polymer as being tilted in two or directions.

    Abstract: A VA(vertically aligned) mode LCD using a polymer wall is provided to improve initial stability of a liquid crystal director in operating the LCD and reduce a response time by forming an inclined electric field from a cell upper substrate to a lower substrate. An upper substrate(2-a) is placed under an upper polarizer plate(1-a). A common electrode(3-a) is placed under the upper substrate, and is a transparent electrode from which an electrode of a diameter of 1 m, which causes an inclined electric field is removed at a central portion of a pixel in voltage application. A vertical alignment layer(4-a) is coated on a lower portion of the lower substrate, and makes initial alignment of liquid crystals perpendicular to the substrate. A polymer wall is formed at a lower substrate, maintains a cell thickness with the upper substrate, confines the liquid crystals, and determines initial orientation of the liquid crystals. A vertical alignment layer(4-b) makes initial alignment of the liquid crystal perpendicular to the substrate on the polymer wall and a surface of the lower substrate. A pixel electrode(3-b) is a transparent electrode placed under the polymer wall. The lower substrate(2-b) serves as a lower for the polymer wall, the vertical alignment layer, and the pixel electrode. A lower polarizer plate(1-b) is placed under a driving circuit, and is attached such that its transmission axis becomes orthogonal to the upper polarizer plate.

    Abstract: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having a linear pillar spacer is provided to prevent liquid crystal from being inclined in the direction of gravity and to uniformly maintain cell gaps by locating a linear pillar spacer at a portion where a black matrix exists. On a glass substrate, a black matrix(12) is formed to intercept an unnecessary light leakage region and to classify RGB resins. RGB resins are selectively formed on the substrate where the black matrix(12) are formed. Then a protection film is formed on the whole substrate where the RGB resins and the black matrix(12) are formed. A common electrode is coated to inject voltage on the protection film. A photosensitive resin layer is formed on the common electrode. A dotted line-shaped linear pillar spacer(16) is formed through the developing of the photosensitive resin layer.

    Abstract: A vertically aligned LCD using UV curable monomer is provided to implement a high speed driving by rearranging liquid crystal directors securely, thereby minimizing collision between the liquid crystal directors. A transparent electrode, and a vertical alignment layer are formed on a bottom substrate(200). A polymer wall(203) having the hole of the specific height is formed using photo-crosslinkable polymer resin(Photo resist) in which the consolation viscosity is high. Liquid crystal directors(300) are arranged with the hardened photo-crosslinkable monomer(302) to the particular direction.
