    Abstract: PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to reduce the driving voltage by applying voltages having different polarities and amplitudes to two pixel electrodes. CONSTITUTION: An insulating film covers on a common signal line. Data bus lines(1,1') are formed on the insulating layer. A pixel electrode is divided into the first pixel electrode(6) and the second pixel electrode(7). Through a thin film transistor connected to the pixel electrode, voltages having different polarities are applied to the first and second pixel electrodes. The in-plane electric field is formed between the first and second pixel electrodes. The liquid crystal having positive permittivity anisotropy or negative permittivity anisotropy which are horizontally and initially arranged is rotated so as to be parallel to a substrate.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: An IPS(In-Plane Switching) LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) using a cholesteric blue phase liquid crystal having optical homogeneity is provided to supply LCD having the driving voltage of many voltage by applying the liquid crystal in a two transistor IPS mode and stabilize cholesteric blue phase liquid crystal through UV(Ultraviolet) curing operation. CONSTITUTION: Transparency or an opaque common signal line(4) is formed on a lower transparent substrate on a layer such as a gate bus line(3). After the insulating layer is covered on the common signal line, a data bus line(1) is formed on the insulating layer. The pixel electrode separates in the formation of the pixel electrode from a first pixel electrode(6) and a second pixel electrode. The voltage of the different polarity is applied through a TFT(Thin Film Transistor) connected to each pixel electrode to the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: An FFS(Fringe Field Switching) switching liquid crystal display device is provided to reduce the color shift corresponding to the viewing angle and realize the more excellent viewing angle characteristic. CONSTITUTION: An insulating film(5) is covered on a common electrode. Data lines(1,1') are formed on the insulating film. Slits of the first and second pixel electrodes(6,7) which are separated from each other are formed in the vertically or horizontally crossing type centering on the vertical or horizontal direction of an electrode, and at the same time, the slits are symmetrically patterned in the vertical or horizontal direction. The slits rotates liquid crystal molecules which have positive or negative permittivity in different directions so as to be parallel to the substrate.
