Abstract: 본 발명은 TV의 기능을 그룹 별로 분류한 후 각 그룹에 대해서 사용 빈도가 높은 기능들을 매핑한 제1 기능 버튼들과, 상기 그룹에 대해서 사용 빈도가 낮은 기능들을 매핑한 제2 기능 버튼들과, 상기 그룹에 대응하여 상기 제1 및 제2 기능 버튼들에서 생성되는 신호를 TV로 송신하는 IR(적외선) 송신부를 포함하는 TV 리모컨에 관한 것이다.
본 발명에 따르면, 사용자가 TV 리모콘 버튼을 동작할 때 두 손가락만을 가지고 쉽게 조작할 수 있도록 단순화된 버튼 구조를 포함하며, 각 TV 기능에 대응하는 버튼을 TV 화면에 디스플레이하여 사용자가 단순화된 버튼 구조를 통하여 쉽게 원하는 기능을 선택할 수 있으며, TV 화면을 주시하면서도 원하는 기능을 선택할 수 있어서 TV 리모컨에서 원하는 기능을 찾기 위해서 낭비되는 시간을 줄일 수 있다.

Abstract: A TV remote controller and a method of controlling a TV receiver by using the TV remote controller are provided to allow a user to operate TV remote controller buttons by using only two fingers and display buttons corresponding to TV functions on a TV screen such that the user easily selects a desired function through the buttons. A TV remote controller includes first function buttons(110a,110b,110c,110d,110e,110f), second function buttons(120a,120b,120c,120d,120e,120f), and an IR(Infrared Ray) transmitter(150). The first function buttons map functions, which are frequently used, to groups of TV functions. The second function buttons map functions, which are not frequently used, to the groups. The IR transmitter transmits signals generated by the first and second function buttons to a TV receiver.

Abstract: A character input device using a simplified TV remote controller is provided to allow a user to input characters through buttons of a TV remote controller by using only two fingers. A character input device using a simplified TV remote controller includes consonant input buttons(110a,110b,110c,110d,110e,110f), vowel input buttons(120a,120b,120c,120d,120e,120f), and an IR(Infrared Ray) transmitter(150). The consonant input buttons are arranged on the front side of the character input device and correspond to the Korean alphabet consonants. The vowel input buttons are arranged on the backside of the character input device and correspond to the Korean alphabet vowels. The IR transmitter transmits signals generated by the consonant input buttons and the vowel input buttons to a TV receiver.
