Abstract: PURPOSE: A thick film type ELD and a fabricating method thereof are to restrict generating of an air bubble in a fluorescent layer of the ELD, thereby improving brightness and durability of the device. CONSTITUTION: The first and second electrode is received a voltage from an outside. A fluorescent layer, in which an organic binder containing thermoplastic resin is mixed with a phosphor, is formed between the first and second electrodes. An insulating layer is formed between the fluorescent layer and the second electrode. A mixing rate of the organic binder and the phosphor is 6:4-7:3. The organic binder uses dibasic ester, N and N-dimethylformanide as a solvent for the thermoplastic resin. In the method, the first electrode is formed on a substrate. The organic binder mixed with the phosphor is coated and dried on the first electrode to form the fluorescent layer. An air bubble generated on the fluorescent layer is removed. The insulating layer is formed on the fluorescent layer. The second electrode is then formed on the insulating layer.

Abstract: 이발명은투명한절연층을이용한후막형전계발광소자에관한것이다. 기판위에제1 전극이형성되어있고, 제1 전극위에형광층이형성되어있으며, 형광층위에빛을투과시키는절연층이형성되어있고, 절연층위에제2 전극이형성되어있다. 절연층은형광층의상면과측면을모두감싸는형태로형성되어있다. 제1 전극및 제2 전극에전압이인가되면형광층이빛을발광하고, 형광층으로부터발광된빛은제1 전극을통하여외부로방출되며, 이때 형광층으로부터절연층쪽으로발광된빛도절연층을투과한다음제2 전극에반사되어다시절연층, 형광층및 제1 전극을순차적으로통과하여외부로방출된다. 따라서, 전계발광소자로부터방출되는빛의휘도량이증가되어휘도특성이향상되며, 절연층이형광층을보호함에따라내구성이향상된다.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A thick film type EL(electroluminescence) element using a transparent insulating layer is provided to improve brightness character and durability of the thick film type EL element. CONSTITUTION: A transparent electrode(2) on which a conductor such as an indium tin oxide is applied is formed on a substrate(1). A fluorescence layer(3) on which a fluorescent material as a compound of a ZnS and a CuS is applied is formed on the transparent electrode(2). An insulating layer(4) composed of an insulator permeable by light is formed on the fluorescence layer(3). A rear electrode(5) on which a material having superior reflection character like an aluminum is vacuum evaporated is formed on the insulating layer(4). Because the insulating layer(4) is composed of a parylene having insulating character and light permeability and formed so as to surround the top and the side of the fluorescence layer(3), the insulating layer(4) has insulation and protection function to the fluorescence layer(3). A protective film(6) is formed on top of the substrate(1), the transparent electrode(2), fluorescence layer(3), the insulating layer(4) and the rear electrode(5) to protect whole EL element for moisture-proof.

Abstract: PURPOSE: A thick film electroluminescent display device and its manufacturing method are provided to improve the durability and to prevent the connection terminals from detaching the corresponding electrode by using the first and the second conductive paste layers. CONSTITUTION: The thick film electroluminescent display device comprises a substrate(10), a transparent electrode(20) formed on the substrate, the first electrode deposited on the substrate, a phosphor layer(30) deposited on the first electrode, the first dielectric layer deposited on the first electrode and placed adjacently to the phosphor layer, the first conductive paste layer(80) deposited on the first electrode and connected to the phosphor layer, the first terminal(90) adhered to the first conductive paste layer and electrically connected to the first electrode, the second dielectric layer deposited on the phosphor layer, the second electrode(110) deposited on the first and the second dielectric layers, the second conductive paste layer(100) deposited on the second electrode, the second terminal adhered to the second conductive paste layer and electrically connected to the second electrode. The first and the second conductive paste layers are composed of non-volatile binder, which improves the adhesive property.
