Abstract: PURPOSE: Disclosed are an absorbent containing calcium ingredient for treatment of acidic flue gases including NOx and SO2 and a preparation method thereof. CONSTITUTION: The devised absorbent is composed of mainly limestone and oyster shell (75-98wt%) in addition to 1-20wt% of fly ash and bentonite. To effectively remove the acidic gases such as SO2, NO, and NOx, the optimal weight ratio of main ingredients, bentonite and fly ash is 8:1:1. The oyster is pretreated by cleaning and drying and calcined at 800-1,000deg.C with limestone to transfer CaCO3 to CaO. The calcined compound is again mixed with bentonite and fly ash and then the mixture is treated at 80-100deg.C for 12-24hours in hydration equipment. The final absorbent is gained by drying and crushing processes.
