본 발명은 비목나무 추출물, 이의 분획물, 또는 이로부터 분리한 화합물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 뇌졸중의 예방 및 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 따른 비목나무(Lindera erythrocarpa) 추출물, 이의 분획물, 또는 이로부터 분리한 화합물(메틸 루시돈, 메틸 린데론)은 신경세포에 대한 독성이 없고, LPS-자극된 미세신경교세포에서 iNOS 발현 및 NO 생성; 전염증 사이토카인의 분비; ERK, p38, Akt 등의 인산화 및 NF-κB 신호전달 경로를 효과적으로 억제하여 뇌졸중에서 활성화되는 미세신경교세포(microglia)의 신경세포 독성을 효과적으로 저해시키며, 신경세포 사멸에 대한 신경세포 보호 효과를 나타냄으로써 뇌졸중의 예방 및 기능개선과 치료 및 치료 보조 등에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.

The present invention relates to a composition for prevention and treatment of stroke containing a Lindera erythrocarpa extract, a fraction thereof, or a compound isolated therefrom, as active ingredients. The Lindera erythrocarpa extract, the fraction thereof, or the compound isolated therefrom (methyl lucidone or methyl linderone) has no cytotoxicity to neurons, effectively inhibits neurotoxicity of microglia activated in stroke by effectively suppressing iNOS expression and NO generation in LPS-stimulated microglia; secretion of proinflammatory cytokines; and phosphorylation of ERK, p38, Akt, and the like and NF-κB signaling path, and exhibits neuroprotective effects against neuronal cell death. Therefore, The Lindera erythrocarpa extract, the fraction thereof, or the compound isolated therefrom is useful in prevention, function improvement, treatment, and assistance for treatment of stroke.
