Abstract: PURPOSE: A dimeric flavones for producing drugs and nutrition products for suppressing beta-amyloid and fibrillation is provided to improve viability of cells exposed by beta-amyloid and to prevent and treat neural diseases. CONSTITUTION: A dimeric flavones or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof is used in manufacturing an agent for preventing and treating to prevent toxicity of the beta-amyloid. The dimeric flavone is taiwaniaflavone, 2',8"-blapigenin, amentoflavone, or sumaflavone. A pharmaceutical composition contains dimeric flavones or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The dimeric flavones are isolated from Selaginella tamariscina extract.
