Abstract: PURPOSE: A digital video recorder monitoring system of a direct show environment using a web cam is provided to be manufactured at a low cost and maintain high performance by using a motion JPEG scheme in a direct show environment as a video compression type. CONSTITUTION: A web cam is installed at a monitoring target place, and the video information for the installation place where the web cam is installed is captured in a predetermined per-second frame number. A web cam is connected to a USB(Universal Serial Bus) port(21), and an operation unit(22) compresses the video information in a direct show environment through the USB port through a motion JPEG(Joint Photographic Expert Group) scheme. A storage unit(23) stores the compressed video information, and an output unit(24) outputs the video information.
