    Abstract: PURPOSE: A fluorescent substrate for protease with broad substrate specificity and a diagnostic kit containing the same are provided to accurately measure protease activity and to identify bacteria presence. CONSTITUTION: A flurescent substrate is specific to secretory protease and has chemical formula 1(MCA-Xn-A-Xm-DNP). The bacteria are vibrio vulnificus including Vibrio vulnificus, Vibrio mimicus, Vibrio fluvialis, Vibrio furnissii, Vibrio hollisae, Vibrio alginolyticus, Vibrio cincinnatiensis, or Vibrio metschnikovii. The Vibrio vulnificus is Vibrio vulnificus ATCC29307. The protease is metalloprotease. A diagnostic kit contains the fluorescent substrate. The kit is used for measuring the presence and content of the protease by MCP luminescence.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: A septicemia vibrio vulnificus originated recombinant protein is provided to rapidly and accurately determine the existence of Septicemia vibrio vulnificus and an antibody for the recombinant protein is provided to diagnose vibrio infections. CONSTITUTION: A septicemia vibrio vulnificus originated recombinant protein is a recombinant fusion protein in which the amino-terminal part of metalloprotease is derivated from the Septicemia Vibrio Vulnificus and maltose are combined. The amino-terminal part of the metalloprotease does not include zymophore. The amino-terminal part of the metalloprotease is the amino terminal 139 amino acid of the metalloprotease. The amino-terminal part of the metalloprotease has the amino acid sequence described in the sequence number 1(SEQ ID NO:1) (N-ter139 peptide). The recombinant vector includes the recombination gene which codes the recombinant fusion protein. The recombinant vector is plasmid vector, cosmid vector, bacteriophage vector or virus vector. The recombinant vector is plasmid pN-ter139. The transformed recombinant vector is Escherichia coli, bacillus, streptomycin, pseudomonas, proteus mirabilis, star pillow yeast, bacillus, fungus, yeast, insect cell, plant cell or mammal.
