Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for removing the jam of a multi-function printing device using a sheet of A4 paper. The apparatus for removing the jam of a multi-function printing device using a sheet of A4 paper includes a paper detection sensor installed along a paper supply path at regular intervals; a transfer roller driving part driving a transfer roller installed on the paper supply path located in the upper part of a A3 paper supply tray insertion space according to the sensing result of the paper detection sensor; and a control part controlling the transfer roller driving part to transfer the jammed A3 paper to a paper cover installed in back of an A4 paper supply tray insertion space when the jam of the A3 paper is generated on the paper supply path located in the upper part of the A3 paper supply tray insertion space by the sensing result of the paper detection sensor. If a paper jam is generated in an A3 transfer region, an A3 paper supply tray is separated from a main body, or the jam paper is moved to the paper cover in the back side of the main body to easily remove the jam of the A3 paper without opening an A3 paper jam removal cover and removing the paper.
