Abstract: The present invention relates to a pre-coating apparatus for an inkjet printer comprising a main body having a coating roller to coat a coating solution on paper to be printed before being transferred to a printing area; and a coating cartridge including a transfer roller contacting with the coating roller to transfer the coating solution to the coating roller and a coating solution tank supplying the coating solution to the transfer roller, and formed to be attachable to and detachable from the main body. The pre-coating apparatus is able to increase the whole life of an inkjet printer and to reduce the maintenance cost by forming a separate cartridge structure with parts performing the coating function separately from the main body.
