Abstract: PURPOSE: A remote control signal transmission apparatus of a DVR is provided to receive a remote control signal from a user in a monitor side and to transmit the signal to the DVR through an idle pin and a VGA/HDMI cable which are not used. CONSTITUTION: A monitor(20) includes an IR(Infrared Ray) receiver(21) and a monitor controller(22). The monitor controller outputs an IR code received from the IR receiver to the idle pin of a connector(42,43). A cable(41) and the connector transfers a video signal outputted from a DVR(Digital Video Recorder)(30) to the monitor and transfers the IR code outputted from the monitor through the idle pin to the DVR. The DVR controls the recording or reproducing operation of a storage medium(35) according to the IR code.
