Abstract: Acrylic fiber is manufactured by wet-spinning a mixed polymer solution consisting of 80-98wt% acrylonitrile polymer solution and 2-20we% urea polymer solution. The urea polymer is in-situ polymerized by the polycondensation of diamine compound having a molecular weight of less than 300, or diamine-diol compound, with diisocyanate compound, in the acrylonitrile polymer solution containing more than 85wt% acrylonitrile monomer. The produced acrylic fiber shows an excellent dimension stability.
